Bigger, Better, Bolder - Printing United 2019

When it comes to the printing world, tradeshows look to captivate the industry each year. Last week the debut of Printing United did just that. Sponsored by SGIA, Printing United was hosted in Dallas, Texas. The show brought together its usual apparel, wide format, and functional printing applications, with the commercial, packaging, and in-plant printing sectors. The entire industry was under one roof with an abundance of cool new things to show. With a mission of being "bigger, better, and bolder," the excitement surrounding the show was at an all-time high. In the middle of all the excitement was the Grimco team with several buzz-worthy products ranging from top-of-the-line printers, to private label brands!

The Chatter

Grimco brought an array of excellent products, new and seasoned, to Printing United but some stood out more than others.

The HP Latex R2000 Plus Large Format Color Production Printer was not only large in size but in hype. Brought to you by one of Printing United's diamond sponsors, HP’s large format printer had people chattering with6EA546D6-DE2E-4095-8528-5CCEEF74F98E_1_201_a the printer's ability to achieve fantastic colors on rigid and flexible materials all without any smell. The R2000 Plus is ideal for those who are HP Latex owners or have UV technology experience. It demonstrated that it could take the right owner to the next level.

Another product that garnered attention was the FC-9000 Series High-Performance Roll Feed Cutting Plotter from Graphtec. This plotter displayed an abundance of unique features attracting in big crowds. One of the most innovative features on display was the data link barcode system. This system allows the plotter to read barcodes created and printed as part of the design; which then automatically loads the information into the plotter for print and cut jobs. If anyone at the show was looking to improve their efficiency and move quickly with contour cuts, they found their plotter at the Grimco booth.

The New & Fresh

Along with the more seasoned HP R2000 Plus and the Graphtec FC 9000 Series, there were some new products that stood out from the others. The first of which was the Epson 64-inch SureColor F9470. This printer is Epson’s first dye-sublimation textile printer with fluorescent ink. It brings a versatility that is great for roll-to-roll textile, home décor, and soft signage. This printer had everyone raving about the future of the dye-sublimation space, and what Epson has in store.

Following suit was the Epson SureColor F570 Dye-Sublimation Printer. A compact printer with easy connectivity and quality out of the box prints. It definitely won the “most bang for your buck” award with outstanding capabilities in a small package. People loved the high-capacity ink bottles as well as versatile print job capabilities. An overall printer that the industry should be on the lookout for!

Despite all the ruckus from new and shiny printers and plotters, there was a consistent gathering around the other sections of the Grimco booth. The well-trusted Grimco exclusive brands Briteline and HanleyLED brought in an eager audience. Both brands added high quality products to their lineups recently. Briteline’s new WrapCAST and HanleyLED’s Phoenix NRG Series were big hitters for both the brands respectively. Crowds found themselves immersed in Briteline's Experience Center; where they could feel firsthand the plethora of industry leading products under the Briteline name. Just on the other side of the booth attendees were met with the brilliant Module Wall from HanleyLED. Guests witnessed their game saving line working in multiple applications.

The Wrap Up

Printing United was a smashing success in its inaugural run. The mission of bigger, better, bolder was accomplished with style thanks to the number of excellent products displayed. Grimco loved the opportunity to be on the floor, talking with a plethora of people in the industry! We look forward to seeing everyone in Atlanta on October 21-23, 2020 for the second round of Printing United 2020.
