Important Checks before Inserting a Maintenance Cartridge in HP Latex 700/800

An increasing number of cases have been reported involving crashes between misplaced or deformed flags in the HP L700-800 Maintenance Cartridge and the Optical Sensor located in the Service Station. HP has sent out a HP Important Notice: L700-800 Maintenance Cartridge that discusses the issue and solution in detail. 

HP is taking the following steps to address this issue: (1) Firmware update — A prompt is being added to alert customers to inspect the Maintenance Cartridge flags before use. (2) Hardware guard — Newer units will include a physical guard to help prevent flag damage. (3) Improved packaging — HP is developing an updated shipping solution to prevent flag breakage during transit.
